Amazon pushed it back this year and it officially is happening october 13th and 14th 2020, and i am fired up because in this video i’m gon na be sharing five tips on how you can get the best deals on amazon prime day this year, i’ve got a Full training for you and i’m also going to go through my content. Creator checklist um breaking down some of the things, so you can make your game plan for shopping this year, and so a lot of powerful content coming up. But yes, prime day is upon us officially october 13th and 14th, and my question for you is: what are you shopping for on amazon prime day? If you want to take advantage of amazon prime day, you have to be an amazon, prime member and um. You get, prime video. We use that a lot right for different streaming shows and things like that. You get amazon, music. We don’t really use that too much. But do you get things like amazon photos? Did you know you have unlimited photo storage with amazon, prime it’s, true, and so so many things that you may not even know about it? Let me know by the way if the audio is even working, because i don’t even know what i’m doing today um. Okay, so uh sign up for amazon, prime, that might be a given, but in order to take care of amazon prime day, you have to be a prime member and again um. You can sign up and you get a 30 day free trial and you can cancel if you want, or you can see if you, like, all the benefits and there’s a link to those benefits in the description down below. If you need those details, um all right tip number two calculate how much you are actually saving, and let me give you a couple examples with some deals that are already out at the time of recording this by the way. Um amazon, uh prime day does not start until midnight tonight now, if you’re watching this video on the 13th or the 14th, the deal’s already happening. So if you click the top link in the description that will take you to the deals page where you can see all the deals that are happening and you can see deals start at midnight.
Amazon is a west coast company here in the united states. So i believe that’s midnight pacific standard time, so we’re just a few hours away from those deals starting right now you can see the early access deals and then the official deals will really start pretty soon, but here’s an example of calculating your savings. I think this is one of the deals that’s out right now. That i think is pretty amazing. Is you can get a 55 inch toshiba smart tv, a fire tv for a hundred and fifty dollars off? So you wan na make sure you see the price, and then you see the deal in some cases. It will show you the percentage here it does not but that’s one example and there’s also a 43 inch. The 55 inch a couple different options on deals: the 32 inch for a hundred dollars. My reason for putting this here too is: maybe you want a new gaming monitor or even some kind of like. Maybe you want to use that for your computer as a content. Creator you might want to check out some of those tv deals here’s an example of an ipad. Now apple products don’t really get discounted that much. But you can see that there’s a 16 savings on this deal, and maybe we like to use ipads for teleprompters. So that’s one thing to check out: macbook pro now notice this – and this is some of the stuff you want to study.
Yes, it’s five percent off on the sale but see it says, save 100 at checkout, and so what you actually do is add it to your cart, it’s, going to add that promotion onto it later and so notice all around this shopping area. Here, what certain specific deals are now another thing: that’s really important is it’s, not just the deal. This is one of my favorite early deals. Is these hubs? Are you team, um and so notice that it’s not just the savings, so i actually have this exact hub with the ethernet plug in cable. Why? We are on tip number three returns until january: first yeah. How how dope is that so um amazon is in full holiday mode right now, that’s a pretty big deal because that’s almost three months of returns now amazon with prime date, it seems kind of strategic doesn’t. It i’m curious your thoughts, they’re jumping like a whole month ahead of black friday and cyber monday in the holiday deals. I think they’re trying to take some of the pie as the biggest e commerce store to say, do your holiday shopping now. So i have a feeling they’re going to come out strong at midnight with some sick deals over the next 48 hours and by the way, it’s funny that it also is like a two day thing. Amazon prime day is like two days, or at least one and a half days um. I think they’re going to come out strong with some deals because they want to take that market share from other retailers and by the way, other retailers are doing deals at the same time too, because it’s it’s, an e commerce kind of competition um in preparation for The holidays, so i think maybe are you shopping for somebody else, or are you building out your own battle station and your own content uh? Let me know, and so uh returns, though, are extended, so you could take some action.
Make sure that things are actually right for you or you’re, actually gon na use them. Actually, you know you can grab whatever deals. You want and then take advantage of that extended return. So that’s cool tip number four master lightning deals, my friends. This is where the magic happens, so, if you haven’t really shopped before make sure you’re signed up for amazon prime the way the deals work is their lightning deals. Now, what is a lightning deal when deals are available? It’S, usually one per customer and there’s a limited promotion period, so here’s what you need to know there’s a time limit to claim the deal so starting at midnight. You’Re going to see upcoming deals and you’re going to see goes live maybe at like 6 a.m. 12 a.m. P.M, whatever it is so set a reminder when you look ahead at the deals and where you’ll see them, you can’t actually see them now because it hasn’t started. But when you go to the prime home page you’re going to start seeing the deals, got it okay, now a couple things lightning deals, usually last only a few hours or why surprise supplies last there’s also purchase limits so there’s only maybe like 100 units, 500 units. 5000 units available, if you miss it, you’ll, be able to join a wait list and then a huge key, and i can’t quite do it yet. But you want to filter your uh choices by category, so it’s uh here’s a tip definitely make rec.
I recommend using a desktop to shop on amazon, prime or a laptop you get onto your web page over on the left side. You could say filter by category, so you look at all the lightning deals, but for content creators in particular a part of the think media community. You might check i look at like computers and tech. I look at gaming because sometimes there’s headsets or maybe gaming stuff. I look at cameras and photography. I look at those different categories, you check those boxes and it filters the deals down. Then you want to look ahead and maybe set reminders on your phone or set notifications. So as soon as maybe you’re, like oh sick there’s, that lighting kit, i want or there’s that microphone i want set that reminder so you’ve got that deal cued up for you, okay, so tip number four is master lightning deals. I don’t think i said that right. I said lighting deals, but you know: hey whatever it’s it’s i’m, a new dad right i’m, trying to figure it out um and so all right here’s. Whenever i, i always upgrade my battle station. I think about what do i need for my business during this time of year, so cameras, camera lenses, right, it’s, maybe a good time to pick up some lenses shop around live streaming gear, man that’s everything right, it might be computer monitors, it might be an audio Interface, it might be uh lighting for live streaming.
It might be anything related to live streaming gear, smartphone accessories, smartphone, tripods, um, smartphone, clip on lights, smartphone, microphones, smartphone accessories like that. Maybe it’s a backup usb drive to clear off that video footage on your smartphone. So what i’m encouraging you to do too? Is you always want to go in with the game plan it’s not really about impulse buying right it’s about writing down hey? What do i need to take my content to another level? What do i want to upgrade this year? What do i want to invest in lighting right lighting, and so lighting could be like right now? I’Ve got some gbm uh. It might be a lighting kit, a softbox kit, for for your uh. You know uh, just your home office or or wherever microphones um podcast gear. Are you thinking about podcasting zoom’s got that new portable kind of multi channel podcast, of course the road podcasters sick uh, you know, and even like zoom age friends. Now this stuff might not all be on sale by the way i’m gon na do another stream tomorrow morning, which will be the morning of amazon prime day once the deals open up, and hopefully i can look far enough ahead to pick out some of the best Deals off of this list, i just want to give you the tips for how to actually get the deals.
Help you create your game plan storage, sd cards hard drives, uh wi, fi routers, you know! Maybe you want to up increase the speed of the wi fi in your house or maybe there’s some networking stuff. Maybe you want to make sure you get hard lined. One of my biggest tips for live streaming is make sure you get hard lined get plugged in uh wherever. Maybe you want to get a switch, so you can. You know i just got a switch, so i could plug in my apple tv uh, my it’s pretty sick, my smart tv, the amount of the nvidia shield, the playstation 4 plus i wanted to plug in my other laptop plus i wanted to plug in my nas. My network area story whatever, and so this might be beyond what, where uh you’re at. Let me know if that sounded crazy, uh accessories. It could be batteries a lot of times that stuff won’t be on sale, but maybe it’s like camera backpacks, camera straps, um. Other types of except camera mounts um. I got a joby in the picture right, maybe it’s different vlogging, tripods and whatnot things to shop around and again i’ll be doing another stream laptops and computers. That could be a big upgrade look around for those deals and then maybe software, maybe there’s a deal on like adobe uh premiere pro, maybe adobe elements photoshop and those types of things uh come out as well, and so um definitely uh check some of that stuff Out and then hey shout out on the stream before we get to tip number five, if we haven’t got to hang out yet meet sean bradley cannell he’s three weeks old today, um and uh he’s new on the think media team you’ve got omar nolan tony kyle Heather and sean bradley kennel so excited for the man um and uh there.

What are the things you’re looking for cbs says i want to buy some new mics um faze says: should i buy during prime day or black friday? You know that’s a that’s, a good that’s, a good question here’s. What i i don’t think that the deals, the really good lightning deals are going to be just as good on black friday and and prime day and cyber monday, like when it’s a good deal on the lighting kit, it’s a good deal. It usually doesn’t go lower and there’s usually limited deals, that’s. What really happens? The general sales are usually just solid. Those probably won’t change much and you know most of what you see on amazon prime day is all the amazon fire and all that stuff it’s. The lightning deals that’s where everything uh really kind of comes out and um and again write down a list of the stuff you’re. Looking for fishing southeast there’s, your shout out thanks for being here monitors chris, is after smart, smart move, um and uh yeah thanks for uh being here all right, i got tip number five, though, coming up for you and so let’s dive into that um.
Compare deals on other sites and stores, so people are competing with amazon prime day. Let me just give you one example, but there’s a couple. Others to maybe check out like this is the dji osmo pocket? Um really good. Can you know kind of gimbal a lot of people use this for vlogging, because it’s so stable and steady, really cool, of course, really great reviews so notice this? This is a hundred and twenty dollars off instant savings for 297. For the kit right, you got a little charging dock thing and you’ve got uh the micro sd card that comes with it, so sick deal with the expansion kit right and the offer deal ends midnight on october 14th. So this is an example of uh b h photo and i’ve linked to this deal. If this is, if you’re in the market for this camera that’s my affiliate link but that’s in the description so check that out notice it’s only open until the end of prime day so there’s a few other websites that or i think, a lot of people target. Walmart best buy uh, not my favorite stores, but you know maybe adorama b h, so there may be some other places out there that you want to look at and you always want to potentially shop around so make your game plan um. Let me know some of the things that you’re looking for uh and um and then write those down and then execute and just dive right in you know: six sigma 16 millimeter 1.
4. I don’t know if there’ll be a deal or not, i’ll be going live in in about 16 hours or so, and we’ll talk about some of the deals um but yeah write it down like make it your your target list and figure out what the prices are. You know, let me give you like um, if you’ve ever heard of camel camel camel here’s a bonus tip for those that made it to this point. In the video smash like uh camel camel camel is a site that uh is is pretty cool. It compares all of the history of amazon pricing, so it’s not going to compare it to other sites, but watch this. So if we take the sigma 16 millimeter 1.4 to camelcamelcamel.com, you ever heard about it. This is why you come to think media for the tips sigma 60 millimeter 1.4, and what you can see is you can see the pricing history over time right. So you can click on amazon here third party used and check that out. So you can see that it’s 419 right now it’s peaked at much higher at a certain point around 400 and you can maybe get it used for 365.. My point is: do your research to figure out man what’s it priced at which you’d probably know the highest was 900., what the heck and then and then you can. The lowest was 300 probably used, but maybe that was in good condition or an amazon warehouse deal.
So anyways think about resources like that that’s, camelcamelcamel.com and uh cool, url, right and uh think about resources like that. Definitely something to check out and um and then again, i’m going to be back with actually some specific deals. So those are the five tips get signed up for amazon prime make sure you actually are seeing how much savings there are. I put the link to some of the deals that are available now but like 16 on the ipad apple doesn’t really discount their stuff that’s like decent, but some deals like that. Dji osmo deal on b h, like that’s some serious that’s, a really good deal so think about the actual pricing, master, lightning deals or lighting deals for the misspelling and um uh. I think that amazon prime they’re, not gon na cut corners. I don’t think on amazon. Prime day, i think the deals are gon na be pretty remarkable because they’re trying to jump ahead of everybody, everybody pushes the holidays earlier that’s. What we’ve been seeing right, they’re trying to get in like like notice black friday mark my words it’ll start at the beginning of the month, there’ll be some people who are like it’s black friday month and they’ll, like literally start at the beginning of november, because they Want to get the best deals in front of you before everybody else, so i don’t think this is gon na be a day of hype. We’Ll have to see, but i actually think that amazon’s gon na come out strong, so again check out links in the description down below yes, uh g9.
