It is so freaking useful to have this here. Music. This is the Garmin Enduro 2., its garmins Ultra endurance focused watch its a large watch with a large battery and an equally large price tag. The Enduro 2 has a 51 millimeter watch body and that watch body has a titanium, bezel and a titanium back plate. It has a 1.4 inch, color transflective memory and pixel display, which does make it easy to read in direct sunlight, but by no means is it as bright and vibrant as an AMOLED screen that you might find on some of the other Garmin watches. It is a touchscreen device and that lens that youre touching is made of a sapphire crystal, so it should be extremely scratch resistant as long as you dont, you know, drag a diamond wedding ring across it or something like that. Now, if youre not familiar with Garmin Fitness outdoor watches, the Garmin Enduro 2 has five buttons with three on the left and two on the right, so thats a backlight button or a quick menu button on the top left. Then the uh right below thats, like an up and down button on the left side here and then on the right side. The top right is a selection button and the bottom right is a back button. And while this is a touch screen, theres zero dependency requiring the touchscreen and as far as I know, uh all of the sports profiles have the touchscreen disabled by default.

So you can turn them on, but I do tend to prefer the buttons when Im actually doing things where I could be wet or sweaty or potentially in some sort of race scenario, where I really dont want things getting mixed up on my watch. But as I mentioned, the built in flashlight, its actually twice as bright as the Phoenix 7x series – and I do really find myself using it every single day uh and to me it seems like – were starting to see this flashlight show up on. You know more and more devices. The newly announced Instinct 2x also has a flashlight, but my prediction is that you know were going to start seeing this more and more on Garmin watches. At least you know if maybe last year was the year of the multi band GPS chipset. I think this year will maybe be the year of the flashlights I dont know well see, but the Enduro 2 weighs in at around 69 grams, which isnt that bad consider considering the size of this device. Remember that a decent percentage of the weight and watches does come from the watch strap, and this Enduro uses a very lightweight nylon, velcro band. I think Garmin calls it their Ultra fit watch band. I think youll love it, but Garmin also includes a 26 millimeter, quick fit silicone band. If you do prefer that I havent used the silicone band personally and Ive actually been, you know, swimming and doing a lot of water activities with this device.

Its been fine, Music youll also see the basic Garmin charging cord instructions, safety information and if you do decide to pick up, this watch itll cost you eleven hundred dollars here in the US Music. Now the Garmin Enduro 2 also has an unbelievable battery life Garmin lists it at 34 days of battery life in Smartwatch mode, and I can confirm that Ive really only been charging this device about once a month uh just for fun. We should put it in battery saver mode. I think if you hold down the quick menu, you can quickly go into battery saver mode and for me 111 days, which is just ridiculous, but the Garmin Enduro 2 also has multiple solar, voltaic layers for solar charging. So you can see that this ring around the display is a solar charging piece here, a Garmin calls it their power, glass or power Sapphire. I guess in this case, but the Ring Around The Edge is able to collect 100 of the suns rays. But then the rest of the display also has another solar layer on top of it and it can collect about 10 percent of the suns rays. But if youre, seeing about 50 1000 locks of sunlight or youre out in, I would say, semi sunny conditions for about three hours per day. You can expect the battery life to jump from 34 days all the way up to 46 days and then, if youre racing, an ultra running event, you can expect the battery life while using GPS to be somewhere between 70 hours and 100 hours.

Again, you know, depending on which multi band GPS chip is needed, or what you have selected as far as satellite features goes now remember: multi band GPS is the option for this watch to connect to multiple satellite types at the same time simultaneously in order to get A better and more accurate GPS track Ill say that it does. It does use up a bit more battery when you use it in. You know typically its most valuable when youre traversing, along, like sheer rock walls or tall skyscrapers, or something like that, something that could bounce the GPS signals around and cause issues that way in the Enduro 2. It also has a Max battery GPS option that can go for 260 or 700 hours kind of again, depending on solar conditions. It also has an expedition mode. Thatll go 70 to 170 days, depending on solar conditions. Now the Enduro 2 under the hood. It is very much a phoenix 7x as far as software goes and as far as features goes as well. This device has Wi Fi, Bluetooth, amp plus I didnt have any issues connecting to my home Wi, Fi and itll automatically upload Fitness activities and sync with Garmin Connect without me, having to really do anything at all, Ive also been able to connect via Bluetooth and and Plus, to a few different heart rate monitors a couple of power meters, indoor, smart bike, trainer and a cycling radar unit all without having any issues or problems at all in the device itself has 32 gigs of memory, so it can store Maps, but it can also Play music directly from the device connected to Bluetooth headphones.

If you do want to leave your smartphone at home, when youre going for a run now, the device also tracks your daily steps, itll track your sleep, itll track your sleep stages, its hard to say how accurate all that stuff is, but its also been updated to Track your daily HRV or your heart rate variability, which is a good indicator of how ready you are to take on workouts but theres. Also a training readiness score from 0 to 100. It does take that HRV into account, as well as your previous workouts. How much stress it thinks youre under and how you slept, and I actually love this new Morning Report its actually come to this device fairly recently via firmware update, youll, see details about your sleep, your HRV, your workout suggestion of the day in the weather report. It is configurable, so if you do want to show calendar events on here, you can, or maybe you want to show your step goal anything you want to you can kind of add to that morning. Report now Garmin has also added a grade adjusted Pace to the Enduro 2, which again adjusts your pace for the gradient that youre running. This is kind of a common metric that its been available on you know. Other platforms thats been available on training Peaks, its been available on Strava and its on a couple of other Garmin watches as well. But if youre running a seven minute mile up a hill versus a seven minute mile down a hill itll, actually do a great adjusted pace and itll show you as going faster as youre going uphill, because it is more effort and the same thing going.

Downhill. Itll show you is going slower or great adjusted just because theres less effort required now other notable features of the Garmin interro 2 would be its Auto rest timer that automatically tracks your rest at Aid stations without manually having to trigger it and, of course, arrows or Chevrons that show the correct direction of travel on a course and then Garmin has posted a few updates that I really havent been able to play with or test, and I dont actually plan to theres a sale, Expedition activity type for multi day sailing activities, and it Sets the GPS track points to once an hour by default to conserve battery life, then theres. Also a back country, ski, a back country snowboard, a fair amount of improvements in those where the ascent and The Descent are automatically detected, and then, lastly, theres a wakeboard. A wake surf, a water ski, a tube activity, type and itll, actually Auto detect when youre on a run or if youre, waiting for the boat Music, foreign Music is a bit bigger and it sits up a little bit higher. On your wrist. I found that I hit it against things and smack it around a little bit more against just random objects. For some reason, I hit it against doorknobs for some odd reason, but the depth of this watch is 17 millimeters, so the watch is slightly thicker than the Phoenix 7x, so that watch is one millimeter, thinner or 16 millimeters.

However, the watch itself has the same width and the same basic size as the Phoenix 7x, but so far I havent seen a lot of wear and tear on this device. The bezel in that back plate are both titanium and titanium. Is a nice lightweight metal, but it does scratch fairly easily heres some close up shots of my Garmin epics 2, which Ive had for a little more than a year now, and you can see some scratches on that titanium bezel, but the Enduro 2 itself, its holding Up extremely well Im not seeing a ton of scratches on it in the Enduro 2, it does have running power here. The green line is the Apple watch Ultra, which also has running power, but keep in mind that we shouldnt expect Apples running power to match garmins running power. They use. They basically just use different math to calculate this estimation of force, but you can see that the trends of power do tend to match here and then the Enduro 2 also has garmins Elevate Optical heart rate sensor on the back here. Itll track your heart rate throughout the day and also throughout workouts itll also have the ability to track your oxygen saturation levels. Garmin calls it their pulse ox feature just be aware that if you do enable that it will take a bit of a hit on the battery, I usually you know either turn it completely off. But I kind of want to check it at night to see if Im, snoring or causing issues that way or something that would drop my oxygen levels but Ive had pretty good luck with the heart rate data when comparing it to an ECG style.

Chest strap these Optical heart rate monitors. They do take a little bit of time, just to kind of get locked into a rhythm of your heart and then itll kind of tease out out your running cadence. But once theyve done that it does tend to be pretty accurate and typically, for me at least bigger watches, are a little less accurate on my wrist and again thats. The kind of thing that I see here when Im comparing the Enduro 2, which seems maybe not quite as accurate to my eye as something like this Apple watch, Ultra that Im wearing here on my other wrist and of course this watch has the multi band GPS Chip in it, meaning it has the ability to connect to multiple satellite systems at the same time, to increase accuracy. I was originally using this watch in that all systems plus multi band mode for the most accurate GPS tracks possible. But you know, honestly, I think its Overkill Garmin also added something called stat IQ or this Auto selection feature where itll detect GPS strength and really only switch into that more battery intensive multi band mode if GPS signals become weak, but whatever Voodoo Garmin has been doing With their GPS antenna designs and their their algorithm for only reporting clean signals, whatever theyre doing its definitely working, there are other watch manufacturers that have the same multi band, GPS, chip that the Garmin has and their GPS tracks theyre, not nearly as clean Music.

Okay, I, like the durability of this watch. I like the GPS accuracy. I like the big screen. I like the overall watch design. I even like that you know neon green accent color that they put on the selection button. I personally, like the strap that comes with it, but if its not for you, I love the fact that they offer you a really nice second option. I love never having to charge this device its just a Workhorse in pretty much every single way. So what dont? I like about the Garmin Enduro 2, not a lot. I do wish the price was a little bit more reasonable. Eleven hundred dollars is expensive for a watch, its also a really big watch for reference. You know my wrist is about 175 millimeters in circumference, so pretty tiny um, I you know manly but tiny, but I think its the depth of this watch that makes it feel bulky uh by comparison, the new Garmin Forerunner 965. It actually has a bigger screen green than this, but it sits much closer to my wrist making it feel significantly smaller and the Enduro 2 is a transflective memory and pixel display so again its not as bright and vibrant as some of the other options on the Market, but I dont necessarily think that thats a negative. It definitely goes along with making this watch that can last for a month on a single charge, but I can definitely see how some people might prefer a brighter screen here.

What do you guys think about this? Watch Id say, you know Id say its a solid option and not just if youre an ultra Runner. I do think that this watch would make for an excellent Triathlon Watch if thats your thing its one of those few watches where I can fairly confidently say that I dont think youre going to be disappointed, its a beast of a watch and I dont think Garmin Really made any compromises when it came to both hardware and software on the Garmin Enduro 2. and, of course, its got a freaking flashlight built right into it. What do you guys think, would you consider the Garmin Enduro 2? Is it too big? Is it too expensive, or is there something else that looks a little bit more appealing to you guys either way be sure youre getting out there swimming biking, running rinsing and repeating it all over again, and we will see you guys on the next one Music.JMa6MtzLIUU
