So in today’s, video i’ll be sharing 11 awesome accessories that can complement your smartwatch sports watch or activity. Tracker i’ve done reviews on a lot of these accessories and i’ll have links down in the description below for those videos, along with links where you can check out the current pricing as well as pick them up and if you do choose to purchase through one of Those links there are affiliate links that help support the channel without costing you anything additional, so it’s very much like hitting the like button. It helps the channel out a lot and i appreciate it Music. So the first thing you may want to do with your watch is to personalize them. The easiest way to do that is to purchase the watch strap. So most manufacturers use industry, standard watch, straps and there’s going to be literally thousands of different watch straps to choose from, but some brands do use special or proprietary watch straps like apple as well as fitbit. You can add some style and color to your watch other than maybe just a plain black band, but there’s also other materials to choose from such as, like with an apple watch there’s the sport loop that actually is made out of a fabric that has a velcro Closure and then there’s, the new solar, loop, there’s braided loops there’s, just a lot of bands to choose from and then with garmin watches. Most of these are going to be industry, standard bands kind of like the venue and the venue sq right here, but with the phoenix lineup of watches right here.
These actually use a quick fit band system, so these are going to be really easily detachable. So all you do is just basically use this little clasp on the back. You just kind of release it the watch band, just pops off. Just like that. Another reason you may want to switch out your watch band is if the stock watch band is kind of stiff, so it’s obviously going to be uncomfortable, but as a little bonus. If you get a watch band that actually has some spring or some flexibility to it. It’Ll actually help the watch stay more secure on your wrist, which will aid in getting more accurate heart rate data. Without you having to completely crank down your watch, strap the second accessory on the list is going to be a screen protector, so these watches can range from having no protection at all to corning gorilla glass, all the way up to the high end sapphire and if You’Re, careful with your watch, you may not have much to worry about, but adding a layer protection is never going to be a bad thing. So all these watches they can be damaged. Yes, including the sapphire ones. So a screen protector is just a really cheap and easy way to have a little bit more peace of mind and on the subject of protection. It’S gon na be number three on the list and that’s gon na be a watch case and i’m. Not talking about a case to like store your watch or display, or anything like that, i’m – actually talking about a case to protect your watch as you’re wearing it.
So a lot of these watches they’ll have a metal, bezel or a plastic bezel on the outside, but those can still be damaged, but luckily there are going to be some cases for certain different watches out there. But honestly, the most susceptible is going to be an apple watch just because the entire top portion is glass and there’s like no bezel to really protect it. On the outside and i have broken an apple watch – and let me tell you it is not cheap to get repaired, but luckily there’s going to be lots of different apple cases to choose from to be able to help protect your watch Music and number four on The list is going to be an additional charging cable. Now some watches they can go days, if not weeks before you have to charge them again, but some watches well. They may only last a day or two before you have to place them back on the charger and that’s where having an additional charging. Cable can be really nice to have when you can’t find your one and only one charging cable. That comes with your watch now, if you’re a garmin owner, you may be familiar with the garmin charging cable, which isn’t necessarily the best. It kind of puts your watch in awkward position there. It can sometimes fall out it’s, just not necessarily the best, but luckily there’s. This amazing charging puck like thing that works a lot better than the original, so check that out.
If you have a garmin watch and while we’re talking about charging, you can also get these little watch stands so like this one in particular, this one’s actually made for an apple watch, so the apple watch will just sit right up top right here. The charging table, just kind of is nicely routed right there, it’s pretty nice and then one more thing, that’s related to charging. I have this little portable battery bank charger thingy for my apple watch and i just love this thing. As we all know, apple watches, don’t. Exactly have amazing battery life, and this thing comes in super handy, especially when i’m traveling, Music and number five on the list is going to be an external heart rate, strap so wrist based heart rate sensors. They can vary from being extremely accurate. All the way down to being hot piles of garbage, but regardless there’s still activities that can throw off any wrist base. Heart rate sensor, like mountain biking, weight training, high intensity interval, training as well as swimming and that’s, where getting an external heart rate strap can be really handy. So you can get a basic strap like a polar h9, a wahoo ticker or a garmin hrm dual. But then there’s also more premium options like the garmin hrm pro wahoo, ticker x or polar h10, and all of these chest heart rate straps collect accurate data. There’S really no difference there, but the difference being is that the higher end models well with like the ticker x and the hrm pro? Those can actually collect running dynamics from the strap itself, and then most of these straps can actually store data on the strap itself, which can be useful for doing device.
Free workouts, where you don’t even have to have your watch on you and still be able to collect the heart rate data which can also be useful for swimming, but if wearing a chest, heart rate strap isn’t. Necessarily your jam. You also have the option of an arm heart rate strap, so these will generally collect much better heart rate than a wrist based heart rate sensor, but they still can be thrown off with certain activities that involve a lot of arm movement like weight training. So basically, with these, this is going to be better than a risk based heart rate sensor, but not necessarily as accurate as a chest. Heart rate sensor and number six on the list is going to be a foot pod, so foot pods can provide more advanced running dynamics like ground contact time vertical oscillation running power, there’s actually a whole bunch of data that these little things can collect, but the other Benefit to foot pods is that they’ll also be able to provide more accurate, real time pace than what gps can provide, and this translates indoors, where it’ll be able to provide a little bit more accurate indoor, running distance and speed. And then you also can use these in conjunction with running on zwift Music, which brings us to number seven in our list, which is going to be speed and cadence sensors for cycling, so with cadence sensors. These will provide your pedaling cadence, while riding both indoors and outdoors and with speed sensors.
These can be used outdoors in situations where gps reception can be a little bit spotty, but they are very useful indoors for tracking speed and distance, while you’re on the bike trainer – and i have a few videos that i’ll have linked down in the description below that Explains how to use these Music, which brings us number eight in our list and that’s going to be bike, trainers now. I know this is kind of a stretch just because bike trainers are generally way more expensive than a watch, but it can be an accessory through the watch, so i thought i’d just go ahead and mention them and now i’m gon na go and get this off. My lap, because this thing is extremely heavy, so you can get more budget friendly bike trainers like the tax boost bike trainer, which i recently reviewed to mid range options like the elite sweeto, which offer a more interactive experience since it’s, a smart bike trainer which can Automatically control resistance to higher end trainers like the wahoo kicker, the elite, doretto xr, or the tacx neo2 Music and number nine in the list is going to be a byte computer. Now again, you may think this is kind of weird but hear me out so when you’re cycling with the watch. Yes, it’s collecting all that data, but it’s, not necessarily the easiest to see that data as you’re writing, because you either have to turn your wrist or you have to take your hand completely off the handlebars which isn’t necessarily the most ideal.
So, with a bike, computer you’ll be able to see that data right in front of you. Now some of you may be saying. Well, i don’t want to be recording data on two different devices. Well, your luck! If you live within a garment or wahoo ecosystem, so garmin they have. This feature called extended display which will actually display the data that’s being collected on your watch right there on your edge by computer and then wasu also does have something similar with their element. Rival and number 10 on the list – isn’t even hardware, so these are going to be third party services that you can use in conjunction with your watch like strava, which is going to be a social platform where you can share your activities and then interact with other Athletes around you and then there’s also going to be training services like training peaks, where it provides a little bit of coaching and training guidance and then to go along with that indoor cycling there’s going to be the indoor cycling, training platforms like zwift trainer, road supperfest. As well as ruby, Music and number 11 on the list is going to be a pair of bluetooth headphones. Now i left this last on the list just because most of you probably already have a pair of bluetooth headphones, but if your watch does have the capability of storing music on the watch and then playing it to a pair of bluetooth headphones, these will be really Nice so like with an apple watch, you can get a pair of airpods pro, but if you want something a little more sport oriented, you can get something like the jaybird tara pros.
So these are all the accessories that i could think of. That would be a great complement to your smartwatch sports watcher activity tracker. But if there’s a favorite accessory that i didn’t mention make sure to leave a comment down below.fl4YQeUFgso
