99 canadian per month. I also know you guys like to come to me for fitness advice, since i have the dad bod of a greek dad god, fitness plus is a video on demand service that uses your apple watch as an interactive layer. Now don’t worry: if you don’t have an apple watch, you can still do all the workouts. Normally you just won’t be able to see how many calories you’ve burned to get to fitness. Plus you open up the fitness app the same app that tracks your steps and calories. Once in you have a swipe bar that lets. You choose the type of workout you want, or you can scroll down to see. What’S new, what’s, popular or what’s recommended based on other workouts you’ve done. If you don’t choose one of the new or popular workouts, the best is to select a workout from the top. That, then, shows you different trainers that teach it. If you want to get more detailed, you can tap the filters button then select the trainer time and the music you want to listen to. I call this ttm time ranges from 10 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the style of workout. The cool thing is you, don’t need to work out to bad music. Each type of workout has different genres to choose from even counter music. If you love the music you’re listening to every time, a song plays you’ll, see the name in the top right corner or you can click on the session, and it will show you the playlist in apple music.
Unfortunately, you can’t choose your own music and have to listen to the music the trainers have chosen. I mostly found this to be fine, as the trainers have hand selected each track to match the pace of what you’re doing. One thing you’ll notice is that there’s no description on whether a workout is easy, moderate or hard apple did this intentionally. So you can just jump right in with every session. There’S three trainers: the middle one specializes in the category you selected and moves at the intended pace of the workout, the trainer on the right moves moderately and the one on the left at a slower, beginner space. You get three different intensities in one single video. This is good because, if there’s a pose or pace you can’t keep up with there’ll, be a variation of it to keep you moving. You’Ll also notice that the trainer does a bit of sign language before the session begins. Every trainer has their own custom message, kudos to apple for making this more accessible to everyone. I found the workouts to be a lot of fun. My go to is the treadmill workout with jamie ray. He has a ton of energy and good dialogue. I really dig how the apple watch becomes part of the workout. It not only allows your stats to be shown on the screen, but acts as a central hub to pause and play the video you’re watching it works the best with workouts that don’t require any equipment.
Like yoga core and dance treadmills, bikes and rowers already have ways to show you how many calories, you’ve burned and time elapsed regardless it’s still better to wear one. So you can record your workout data in the fitness app for the competitive type there’s a burn bar at the bottom, which lets you see how you’re doing compared to everyone else who has done the same workout it’s, based on a two minute effort, the harder you Work, the higher the bar moves to the right, it’s, a nice motivator if you’re trying to push your limits. As of this video it’s only available with treadmill hit cycling and roaming. Now, since fitness plus requires the fitness app, it can only be used with an iphone ipad or apple tv, mac, android and windows. Users are out of luck, there’s, not even an airplay option, so you can’t beam it to a tv that supports airplay. However, my gut feeling is that airplay will be a feature at a later date. The apple tv offers the best visual experience out of the three, since you can watch it on the biggest screen you have available. I find the tv works best with workouts that require little to no equipment like core yoga and dance. If you have family members, each member can use their account or apple watch to connect to the apple tv with treadmills and bikes. The ipad is the best option since most have a ledge to rested on.
As for the iphone it’s, my least favorite, because if you don’t have a place to rest, it you’re kind of stuck leaving it on the floor. Finding a desk or using a smartphone mount. It can be awkward, but my gut feeling is most people will be using an iphone for these workouts and look that’s fine, because your iphone is always on you, which means you can work out from anywhere zero excuses. Fitness plus is new and i don’t expect every feature to be present on day one, but for future versions. I’D. Love to see the following. The first one is the option to play your own music. Second, a fast forward and skip intro option. As of now, you can you can’t fast forward a workout video, nor can you skip the intro if i’m doing the same workout over and over again, i just want to jump right into the action and skip the hellos and finally, kid friendly workouts that engage the Entire family or kids to participate and exercise honestly for just launching fitness plus is a lot of fun with so many different workouts to choose from it’s just a great way to offer variety and help stay in shape. The trainers all have fantastic energy and do a formidable job of keeping you motivated. The library is a decent size. As of this, video and apple plans to continue to add more workouts every week, going forward i’m going to be using this service as the weeks go by to supplement my normal routine.
If you’re interested in seeing my progress, i’ll be sharing some of it on instagram stories, so feel free to follow me there that wraps up my first review on apple’s fitness plus. Let me know you guys thoughts in the comments below.6t4pv4ree4c
